Cypress Gardens Water Ski Show

We have been invited to introduce the team to the Winter Haven/Polk County area on Saturday March 17 at the Cypress Gardens Water Ski Show. Come meet some of the team between the WIP show and the main Ski show so around 5:00 pm.

NEW EVENT! Taste of Our Town Winter Haven

Taste of Our Town benefits local elite water skiers from Winter Haven who were selected for the USA Water Ski Show Team to compete at the IWWF Show Ski World Championships Sept 7th – 9th in Huntsville, Ontario Canada. Our passion for our community food, wine, history and culture, inspired us to bring this event “Taste of Our Town” to the city we love so much and call home. Come share a “taste” of our city with locals and visitors alike.

Winter Haven has always held a rich history with water skiers and has played a major role in the development and growth of water skiing as a sport. It is connected to 10 members of the Water Ski Hall of Fame, more than any other city in the world. These include Dick Pope, Sr., Dick Pope, Jr., and Ricky McCormick. George A. “Banana George” Blair, who still holds several water ski world records, was first introduced to the sport while visiting Winter Haven in the 1950s. Today, several successful ski schools for water skiing make their home here. Everyday, all year round, water skiers can be seen practicing their sport on the lakes around town.

With your attendance ($15), know that you are supporting these local athletes. Every single dollar helps give them the training, coaching, and other resources they need to achieve their dream of representing our country at the 2018 World Show Ski Tournament.

Seasons Greetings!

A gift to Team USA is the best way to support us on our road to becoming the 2018 Show Ski World Champions.

Every single dollar is appreciated and goes toward our elite athletes’ dedicated training to the best of the best in the world.

USA Water Ski is proud of the athletes on the 2018 USA Water Ski Show Team that will compete Sept 7-9 2018 in Huntsville, Ontario Canada against teams from all over the world.

Team USA is the defending World Champions, having won the title at the 2012, 2014 and 2016 World Tournaments.

Be a part of this journey and participate in building 2018 champions!

Every donation helps, and let us know if you would like to get more involved as a sponsor or volunteer, there is a lot we need to accomplish and together we can!

Team USA is a non-profit, 501 ( c ) 3 organization, donations are tax deductible.

We’re on Snapchat! Follow our Journey to Worlds

Yes, yes, you might follow some of your favorite skiers on Twitter and “like” their Facebook page, but that’s all old hat now.   Get with the times because the best place to get insight into the team of those athletes you admire and idolise is Snapchat.

The social service with an expiry date has become a firm favorite with many skiers, with their snaps giving a more personal look into how they live life on the water.

Be sure to add USAWATERSKISHOW and sit back and enjoy our new journey toward Worlds!

2018 USA Water Ski Show Team Selected

The National Show Ski Association, a sport discipline organization of USA Water Ski, has announced the athletes who will comprise the 2018 USA Water Ski Show Team at the 4th IWWF Show Ski World Championships, Sept. 7-9, 2018, on Peninsula Lake at the Deerhurst Resort in Huntsville, Ontario, Canada.

In competitive show skiing, each club has one hour to present a theatrical performance on water skis. Judges score acts by awarding points based on originality, presentation and execution. Elaborate costumes and staging intermix with music and fast action on the water as an announcer leads the audience through the show. The team rosters for the Show Ski World Championships are limited to 35 total members and four alternates, including skiers, boat drivers, announcers and show directors. Jeremy Armstrong (Winter Haven, Fla.) and Gerry Luiting (Janesville, Wis.) are the show directors for the 2018 USA Water Ski Show Team.

The USA Water Ski Show Team won the team title at the 2012, 2014 and 2016 world championships. In addition to the United States, the championships featured all-star show ski teams from Australia, Belgium, Canada and China.
